SOPHIA GOLDEN
Welcome!
I'm a seasoned Product Manager with a track record of success at startups, large companies, and government agencies. I thrive working on complex projects, often serving as the bridge between technical and non-technical teams. I seek opportunities to make a difference at mission-driven organizations that focus on addressing important social and economic barriers to health and wellbeing.
A true extrovert, I am fueled by community and spending time with other creators and problem solvers. Say hello!
About me
I am driven by a deep desire to explore the human condition. I started my exploration through theater, delving into the psyche of classic characters from Antigone to Anne Frank. Later as I shifted careers, I returned to a post-baccalaureate in Psychology at Columbia University to build my academic foundational understanding of the mind. This passion for understanding and connecting with those around me is the common thread woven throughout my life experiences. Whatever I pursue whether personally or professionally, I do so with a person first focus.
I was drawn to technology when working as a waitress and auditioning and I heard about a company revolutionizing the restaurant point of sale market. Anyone working in restaurants can tell you, the dinosaurs of the industry left much to be desired. I immediately applied for a job and so began my journey in technology.
In 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the United States, I was fortunate enough to be working at Castlight Health. Within weeks, what started as a hack-a-thon project to build out a resource for finding COVID-19 testing locations became a full fledged product supporting major navigation players like Google, Apple and Amazon Alexa as well as numerous state health departments. This work led to my involvement in building Vaccines.gov. Seeing the impact this work had on the lives and health of millions of Americans kept me motivated through the pandemic. I have never felt more fulfilled in my career and I am excited to continue my focus on building products that improve lives.
